Well here goes, been lurking around here for a loooong time after stumbling across Jacks garage somewhere else. i've found so much inspiration here it's a really cool place. What I need now is to get off my lazy behind and sort my own space so I can get to my projects.

A year ago we finally got rid of the builders and other tradesmen from building a ground floor extension to increase living space, gain a second bathroom and a utility room. I managed to also gain myself what will be a small clean work area although I did lose a foot off the length of my garage and also lost a corner to the house boiler and hot water tank plus the underfloor valves, might not sound much but my garage was only 18'6" by 14'6" to start with. I also seem to have accumulated a lot of projects (or **** as my wife prefers to call it) so I also have three rented lock up garages across the road and my latest space claim, which is to take over our shed as a small wood shop 10' x 8'.

Anyhooo here's a bunch of random pics of the current state of affairs

Tight quarters indeed. Lots of projects, I would pick one project and finish it then move on to the next.

Yeah it's all a bit stuffed :D especially at the moment as I have a whole bunch of '50s kitchen cabinets in there that are in the process of a clean up ready for the workshop wall. All my tools are all over the place and finding screws and whatnot is very frustrating. I've been reading the likes of Stroutys thread as I feel a bit the same way. I know I have too much stuff for the space I have really, but I've started to workout how I'm going to organise it I just find it a bit demoralising how little I get done as I find it easier to buy more stuff that I just know will help me in the long run 'when I'm all set up' :lol_hitti

The space will work ok once I've sorted the stuff, although I'll never get all my projects in at once! Must admit when I first found GJ I was somewhat jealous of the space you guys have in the US compared with the spaces we get here, but once I looked past that and just saw other guys just like me, loving the projects and the spaces you work in, it's all good :bounce:

The S3 is quite good fun, drives like a small limo most of the time and a snarling animal when you stick it in sport and drive it like you stole it :D

My last garage was only 10x19 but i made it work. Its more challenging but still doable. There are some massive garages on this forum. Its nice to lust after.

I did start to think I had to have the big space and every tool under the sun, but I've stopped doing that to myself and realised I just have to use what I have, after all I have plenty more than a lot of people and shouldn't be moaning about it, just get on and do it :thumb up:

Family trip to the movies tonight, got to do some work tomorrow, get some of the vintage kitchen cabinets up at least.

Hi Steve,
Nice spaces you have there. (Can you ever have too much?!)
Mind you, that's a lot of projects, too.
;-)

Great pictures (folks here really love to see photos!) Look forward to further

Keep it coming

Andy

Cheers Basher, but most of them photos are ****! The garage is as bright as a bright thing and very white, not yellow, I have too much light in there really, 5 x 6' doubles! and I really need to get a shorter or maybe even a wide angle lens, more toys to acquire :bounce:

I saw my slip up, but didn't think anyone else would notice, should have known better :lol_hitti One wife is more than enough.

Hey Dubber just revisited your thread, thought I'd read most of it a while ago, cool

Well I got the vintage kitchen cabs up in the little workshop. They're mismatched and showing a fair bit of wear, but being as some of them are probably at least 50 plus years old I don't mind. One day I may restore them but right now I'm after organisation.

Bit slow on an update as is normal for me, never seem to get much done during the week. Been cutting and shaping and rubbing and lacquering a bit of ply and ended up with all these bits

which cover up the extractor that runs through the workshop and make a bit of shelf space into the bargain, not 100% sure what'll go on the shelf, but they're always useful right

Great to actually decide on a job and complete it as I'm not very good at doing that. Just got to decide on what task to do next!
