I know, its not as manly as many of your garages. It does not get a whole lot of use and is mainly for looks even though the cabinets are full.

I like my most original idea of the chalk board paint. My wife and I have enjoyed playing on it since its been up.

Sorry about the link but it takes way to long to upload pics on here.

I will work on the actuall total cost of the project. And yes I still have the baseboards to do.

You can also use chalkboard paint over a piece of sheet metal as it gives a great surface for writing notes on and it will hold magnets.

Looks nice man!

I had the chalkboard paint in my old garage at our old house. We'd have BBQ's all the time and need a fun place to list the Beer Pong Sign-Up sheet. So eventually my buddy and I painted a large section of the wall with chalk board paint and did a Ford Mustang mural in the middle. It always was a fun item in the garage, and a blast to read the morning after a party!!!

Only thing to remember with chaulk board paint is when you clean it off. If you use a damp rag make sure you dont let it run down the wall.

Over time it really wrecks the wall. Learned this the hardway.

We ended up replacing the chaulkboard painted wall with a vinyl dry erase application.

I would also like to add that this is a real garage for storage of everything, no shed, so all lawn equipment is in here too. If you notice the lawnmower is up on the crank up storage.

Looks good, very nice and clean!

I love chalkboard paint, actually have it on my woodworking bench for measurements, on my pegboard thinking I would outline tools (didn't work out) and another section of it hiding some storage on a workbench that we too use for notes, lists, etc.

Yeah that chalkboard paint is working out pretty well. Mainly my wife and I trading notes back and forth for now. I also like the way it looks. I used that green tape instead of blue to paint the straight line. I was quite impressed at how well it worked.

I do need a painting scheme or something? Or maybe a vinyl stripe? Think of diamond plate baseboards. anyone have input on this?

They actually make a magnetic paint, and then you can paint the chalkboard paint over it. Another option.

Actually the floor has held up very well with no problems at all. I am still happy with all my choices of the chalkboard, slatwall and crank up lift. The garage is a little bit messier with some items actually on the floor now.

And the budget is still good, I have not spent any more money on it. Actually the house is up for sale now so I am gonna be loosing some money.

Bill I would say you did a great job for the investment and unless property in Texas has dropped off that bad you shouldnt loose anything on that remodel of the garage .
