My version of the Steevo Workbench (Work in progress)

After several months of contemplating I decided to go with the Husky boxes after the were redesigned. The boxes were on sale, measuring 48w" x 26d" with double rollers on the larger drawers, and pre-cut liners(also came with surge protectors flush mounted which I will use in my top). Found them on sale at my local home depot for 258.00ea also used my old toolbox which I will paint black to match. This is my progress so far with help from my oldest. What do you guys think?

Still have to make the top. I'm going to make the top out of 2x4's glued together butcher block style. Cabinets above along with several other things to come.

Nope. I don’t have random electrical inspections.

I like the layout. I have a couple nitpicks about the design/build though. I do not mean to insult, only offer help from my experiences. Not to say I am a Subject Matter Expert.

• 
  Is that pressure treated lumber? Pressure treated is corrosive to metal, you may have issues with it eating up your boxes. I'm really not sure, but I know galvanized fasteners are required when nailing pressure treated. Either way, I don't believe you need pressure treated for that application.

• You have the weight of the tool boxes resting on fasteners in the back. If you cut a piece of 2x4 to fit under the cross bar going to the ground, then the weight is on the wood and the fasteners are only holding it together.

• You are going to catch hell fetching dropped items from under the bench. Been there, done that. You might consider putting a kick board on the inside of the front legs (like a kitchen cabinet).

I didn't really think of the corrosive issue, after the wood dries out I will either paint or stain. I may end up putting some type of barrier where the toolbox comes in contact with the wood. I'm going to do a little research on that.

I actually have a 4x4 supporting the middle joist the help distribute the weight of the boxes.

As for the bottom, It wont stay open i have something in mind to close it up and be used for storage as well.
