Very nice XR80David. One very minor suggestion. You should put your screwdrivers in a higher drawer, since they are among the most used tools. I keep them in the top drawer of my bottom box.

Hi,

You are very right. I just haven't taken the time to switch them to another drawer.

Not really OCD, just have a passion for clean and organized stuff. It makes life a hell of a lot easier and more enjoyable, I have to say.

Nice set up. I would have liked to build a separate shop from the parking garage but don't have the room.

As far as the OCD...I say that you just moved in within the last year.

Yes, I just moved in not that long ago. I don't have any plans to be any less careful with it, though. The old house here was **** with a barely 2 car garage, just finished the remodel 1.5years ago. Took much longer than expected too. It tooks 4 years from start to finish and there still is a lot of stuff to be done to the house, like getting all the security cameras setup, finish the entertainment system etc. I'd say the garage is complete for now except to invest in some more tools/toys as I see fit... That part never ends right?

I can respect the spotless garage, and my attached garage is also rediculously clean, but I would also need somewhere to do some real work. Do you have another bay dedicated for dirty work? Grinding, painting, welding, knocking over transfer cases ect...:spit:

The welding and painting is for the pro's. No, I don't have a dedicated shop.

You are my hero....great garage.

If he is your hero and this is his "Shop" you both need to be on the "Better Homes and Gardens" Forum, not Garage Journal! This is a site for guys that actual WORK in their garages and can often use the term "SHOP" with impunity!:bounce:

Kidding of course - nice digs.

To each his own, I have never worked a day of my life as a paid mechanic, nor as a painter, machinist, welder, or wood worker, roofer nor plumber. However, I have some decent skills in all of these things, and am primarily self taught with a great deal of what I do, so I would beg to differ with your opinion here. I am the jack of all trades, master of none you have heard of your whole life.

Great Garage !! I aspire to the same level once my son, his friends and the wife leave, with all their stuff ie: scout/camping/ high adventure gear, sports equipt., bikes, auto shop project car, school files.etc... I always thought that my space was more than sufficient until marriage and family. Never enough room or clean enough then !!

The bike is a 883 Iron. Very similar to a 1200N Nightster with a few differences.

Here's a few random pics from my garage...

Your attached garage is just as clean as mine, I'm not going to lie. But my battle with my garage is keeping it a show garage and an working garage at the same time, I'd love to have more of a working garage where I don't worry as much with all powertools setup and ready to go. Maybe someday that will come when I buy my neighbors lot when he sells it :)

Forgot to say your tools are unbelievably shiny, clean and so organized. That reminds me, I gotta wax my sockets sometime ;)

I work in my garage on a lot of stuff. But I must say, does mopping the floor pass for doing work in my garage?

Hi David, I also have a problem with collecting craftsman tools and cabinets. Last count I was at 5 rolling cabinets and a craftsman workbench. Wall to wall on one side of my 2 car garage.

My wife is a librarian, you see I have no choice but to be organized if you know what I mean.

Any new stuff to share?

Thanks for reply G Force, I went out and started cleaning my tool boxes.

You must be a doctor or dentist in your day job?

Really like the diamond plate you added onto tool box.

How is it attached?

Did you purchase or make the glass cabinet for model cars?

Thanks for the compliments!

I had the diamond plate cut to fit and then applied with a strong construction adhesive.

The glass cabinet is actually an Ikea unit. regular priced at $60 and available in many colors. The red is a dead on match with Craftsman red.

I plan on doing a custom 2-tone VCT floor this summer.
