I recently acquired an old Dayton saw. As I gave it a once over and checked to see if the saw seated squarely and wasn't bent I was surprised how easily I could flex the seat plate which is no good for anything square. Potentially dangerous especially if I had just assumed it was a time tested work-horse of a saw and grabbed it in a pinch. Looks pretty cool though.

, I found this saw about a week ago and have not cut a board with it yet, but I'll look out for any bending.

Richard, I do have the metal box, pic. below, but it has some bad rust...not share I can get it cleaned up but I will give it a ry.

, Yes, they don't make them like this anymore...compared to my standard 7 1/4 Skil saw, this one carries an additional four pounds. My Skil saw is noticeably lighter.
