I finally had a little luck this weekend.

I hit a tag sale and spotted an older Craftsman tool chest. Asked, "How much?" They said, "How's $10 sound?" I got friction burns from pulling my wallet out of my pocket so fast.

I spent the afternoon cleaning it up and mounting it on some brackets on the wall next to my other box.

Bonus: found a like-new clear handle C-man #2 Philips screwdriver inside.

At another sale I picked up a Wen 14" electric chainsaw for three whole dollars. The owner said it worked, but didn't cut very good. I discovered the chain was on backwards. Cleaned it up, turned the blade around, added chain oil, and it works fine (still needs sharpening, though). It's all I need to just cut up the occasional limb or piece of firewood that doesn't fit in the stove. I don't have any wooded property that would need more power.

Elsewhere I found a Weller Jr. soldering gun (no pic) for a buck. Needs a new tip, but works great! Just what I need for my vintage radio restoration work.

I almost bought one like that today for $70 with a few old tools but shipping killed the deal. Great score!!
