Not sure why, but a few years ago I started having a hard time leaving 3/4” combo wrenches in the pawn shop piles. If it’s branded and I don’t already have one exactly like it I buy it. Here’s the rail I keep em on. It’s interesting seeing the commonalities in some, like the older Husky, Stanley, Proto, and Challenger ones particularly. Then your got USA Thorsen vs Thorsen Taiwan. Anybody else have a compulsion for a certain size item of any tool? Not pictured are the black oxide Williams that lives with my SAE set and a couple raised panel craftsman, but that’s the collection in the pic.

That IS a strange and probably unique compulsion, vaultdweller! Congratulations for passing Step 1! On the bright side, you're certainly excelling at it. :)

Not for a certain size item, but as far as strange or unique obsessions with a certain type of tool goes, I have a small thing for half-moon wrenches. Here is my meager collection...

Like you, I am trying not to collect duplicates. I may have a little more restraint than you. Haha. Last week a guy wanted $5 for a Duro CHROMIUM-VANADIUM that I don't have, but I refuse to pay that much for any wrench at a flea market on principle. I circled back twice but in the end I just couldn't give him the satisfaction.

I have to give a shout out to 3bay and HeelSpur here. Lots of guys are drawn to ratchets and midget socket sets. They have very unique fetishes: speeder flex heads and bicycle wrenches, respectively. I'll be back with links for you.

EDIT:

vaultdweller...

Here is some good company for you and your compulsion!

3baygarage's Flex Head Speeder collection

HeelSPur's Bicycle Wrench collection

We may need to have a seminar on the word "weird".
I think most of us don't quite get your meaning.

Just don't cross-over and start collecting 19mm. They're so close to 3/4", but not quite.

Oh shoot, I just spilled the beans! :lol_hitti

I'm in the same boat as FarmerJ. Just can't seem to pass up any DBE 1/2 x 9/16. The bug is sooooo easy to get, and almost impossible to get rid of.

Yeah, I’ve passed up a few 19s that would’ve doubled the above. If it’s cheap enough though...

I normally do pick the 1/2x9/16 but those go right to my dad. He literally keeps them everywhere.
