My Wilton C1 restoration
Well, after seeing some of the beauties in the "Main Vise" thread, I had to refinish mine before the final mounting.
I purchased the vise over a year ago from a bankruptcy I was working on for 100 bucks. Manufacturer date on the bottom of the slide is March of 99. So it is not that old, but it is in good condition. Being in good condition I didn't have to use the electrolysis bath.
The disassemble was straight forward thanks to several of the links here, and the only hang up I had was getting the pipe jaws out. Wound up using a right angle pick to get behind the pad and pull out.
Starting out point.
After the tear down
After stripping of the unit. I used media blast to take care of the paint.
More to follow after the primer drys.
