I'm not sure if this is appropriate or not but I would like to share my wood shop with you guys and see if there are any other woodworkers out there. I see a lot of really cool hot rod shops, motor cycle shops and metal working shops but how about you wood guys. I would love to see some really cool wood shops. My wood shop measures 22x30 and is attached to my 26x24 garage. I have phone, cable and 50 amps of power going to it but dropped the ball with the water when I built it. Should have running water! Maybe, if the wife lets me, that will come with time. This is my first post and I am not sure if the photo's I attached actually uploaded.

Ok, only four of the photo's upload but it's a start. As I figure this out I will post more and as I figure out how to scan the pics of the build I will post some of those also. Maybe my good friend JB could help me out with that! Hint

I'm a woodworker but ashamed to show you mine. Here's a couple of really old photos...the space is something like 10 x 12 so case work is really hard. I have to cut down the plywood before it even makes it through the door. I'll be watching this thread.

Hey, welcome to the board. Nice shop, can't wait to see more pics. What do you like to build?

I have a woodworking shop as well (see signature) and there's several very cool woodworking shops on this website, so you'll have a lot to check out.

Thanks guys I already feel welcomed. Here's some picks of my current project. I am helping a neighbor out with a kitchen remodel and I am making them some new/additional cabinets, island and resurfacing some current cabinets.

very nice. I am just finishing my barn that will be a 24x30 workshop

Have a crappy table saw (ryobi bts15) and chop saw (also small- 10") and a couple of other tools

One of the first new tools will probably be a grizzly or jet 14" band saw. I need to get or build some cabinets. I am leaning towards kitchen cabinets off craigslist and raising them up a few inches.

Nice to see others who use their space for other than cars.

Very nice and complete shop! I see you have an affinity for Jet machines. Good looking island and dovetail joinery. Poplar isn't it? How do you plan to finish it?

Very nice shop! Recently I was bitten by the woodworking bug and find more and more of my shop filling up with wood tools. Your joinery on that cabinet is very clean and tight, looks like you know your stuff.

Good eye, the cabinet faces, doors and drawer fronts are poplar which will be primed and painted to match the current cabinets. The cabinet carcasses are birch which will also be primed and painted. The drawers are red oak which will be a natural finish for durability.

I love the jet machines. Wished I could afford Powermatic. I was a big Delta guy in my younger days. I have two pieces of Delta equipment, joiner and thickness sander. Both pieces of equipment were hard to set up and never hold true.
Thanks for the compliments.

Love the planer..! Jet stuf is the kind, I am mostly Delta/Rockwell and Makita. Your right about some Delta's- they were as crude as Craftsman.. Thanks for sharing, great shop!

Welcome and many thanks for your photos. Looks wonderful in all ways!! A LOT of us are woodworkers. Many are woodworkers that wanted a more 50's and 60's auto look in our shops so we went that way, we went back, we went forth, we still go back and forth.
I love woodworking so I have a half and half shop. This can be hard. Many either go 100% Norm Abrams or 100% Carol Shelby. You can have both, but again is it hard to marry a woodshop and and an auto shop. Ideal would be two (2) shops, but then the tool you want is always in the wrong shop, isn't it? LOL.
Anyway, it is all fun!!! Thanks again for your photos and post!!

My shop is dual duty, just within the last month I completed some wood projects, a linen cabinet with hamper, a cedar/granite tile patio table and a custom saw blade and wood accesory cabinet. I was buried in sawdust, so I plumbed in a 4 inch sheet metal dust collection network. It joins my belt sander, table saw, router table and one portable gate for planer and chop saw. Now my garage can live in wood/mechanical harmony. Will update some pics soon.

Currently working on a second custom spice cabinet. Table saw in wife's side of the garage, shaper, planer and bandsaw in my side of the garage, unwired and unusable. To say nothing of lack of space. I'd kill for a shop like yours! :willy_nil May have some pics soon of the cabinets.

I am in the process of building a new shop the old is 600 sq ft new is bigger, I don't think my shop has ever been as clean as yours.

Nice shop great layout, half the fun of building my new shop is figuring the layout of the tools.

It looks good! Do you just drag around the dust collector or hose to connect the machines as you need it, or is there some plumbing hidden?

Good to see a woodshop posted. I always feel a little out of place since i'm not into cars.

Why do woodpecker shops always look like someone just backed the truck up to the door and dumped twice as much stuff into them than what would fit!
Your shop is well organized, and you don't have to ever paint the walls. Thanks for sharing.

I, like most woodworkers, consider this stuff very valuable to our hobby/proffesion. LOL
