This is my working 3 car garage. I say working because I actually use it. So does that make it a shop or a garage? It is somewhat organized but I do have a plan. The pictures are what I have how and the Sketchup image is what I want to achieve. I still need to work in this place as I do custom and one off pieces every once and a while for extra income as well as my personal projects.

I LOVE the equipment - especially the welders - I'm looking at a TIG right now...

I also like your "SUV-storage" idea...I guess with everbody dumping them due to the price of gas, more will become storage lockers!!:bounce:

Thanks. I have been lurking here for quite a while looking at all the great things people are building or remodeling and wanted to get involved. Someone posted the Google Sketchup program and I was amazed. Here was a simple program you can use to help get your point accross. I designed my new garage the way I want it and made a plan, I actually feel like it will happen now. And now that my wife and daughters see what I want we are working together to create it. I'll have to do it a piece at a time but I will get there. I want to be able to use the area to entertain also between projects. Maybe like a race room or for family dinners (extended family). Looking at the pictures it really looks worse than it really is. The SUV is for welding on (a fixture for parts I build) but my wife and daughters kind of store all their **** in it. I hope to have it cleaned out and better organized in about 2 weeks. I will post some more pictures as I go. It is already drywalled and insulated. I will also post some better pictures of the Sketchup designs as when the large red rack is finished it will have sliding access doors covering the equipment so it doesn't get dirty or exposed to the wrong people.

North Wall Design

I plan to build the red racking myself so that it will fit into the space the way I want it and I can compensate for the slope of the floor. I plan to use alum diamond plate as sliding doors on the lower part of the rack. This will protect my equipment and also hide it from view either when the garage is being used for special occasions or from potential theft. Making the garage look cleaner and more organized.

Here is the idea from the front view.

And here is what I am thinking form the back side. I may have to put Dynamat or some sort of sound deadening material ont he back side of the sliding doors for noise supression. May also have to use 4 pieces so I can open it the width desired.

04 Subaru Forester

Got it for free. I use it to weld on for certain parts. I plan to tranfer the drive train to another Forester at a later date once the lift is finished.

I hope to have it and that corner of the garage cleaned out around the 15th as long as I can keep my wife and daughters stuff out of the garage long enough to do so. So I can start work on the temp sink that I acquired.

When I do ge to work in the garage it looks like it threw up all over the drive way. Before I get started on a project I have to move 5 bicycles, 3 scooters, 1 battery powered jeep, a wagon, a green machine, a large trash can and sometimes dolls, carriages, strollers, etc. I plan to transfer as much of this as I can to a shed this winter. Possibly even put the air compressor in it also.
