After seeing the shop threads on GJ it became obvious that my shop was due for a make over.
This is predominantly a woodworking shop.
It will have to be done in sections as time allows.

First up........
The scavenged old kitchen cabinets needed an update so it was a good place to start.

Before..........

Once I started on the cabinets I decided the walls were tired of being white as well.
The oak strip up on the wall is a french cleat so cabinets or other things can be hung up and moved easily.

Moving things back into place.........

I will be making an oak top for the base cabinet.

I am working on some house projects as well so this will take a bit to complete.

Thanks for looking

Good work so far. I really like the red cabinets, they look like they were built for the spaace! I like the french cleats, too.

Woodworking was my start...then I decided it would be more fun to drive something I built than haing it on the wall. Great start on the shop. Fine plainer you got there!!

Have you ever thought of moving the bench to the left so you have more clear space with the cabinet layout as show? Move the rollaway just past the right-hand cabinet?

Thanks,
This part of the shop is for woodworking................the trucks are on the other side.
I am restoring an old house so the woodshop gets used quite a bit.

This quote should be the opening statement to every garge head that looks at the this fourm. The Peer pressure from the so many nice looking garages on this forum. I find myself judging my space based on the other garages.

Very nice transformation! Definitely like the cabinets matching the walls and tool box. From a aesthetic view, the base cabinet would look better centered on uppers. You however know the flow and function of you space. Good job.

I scored a new storage cabinet for the shop today,
Nice heavy cabinet with full extension slides

11 drawers will work out well

Greg

I have one like that and it works great. I have some drawers slam full of screws and the drawrs just glide along.

I built a frame and added casters.
Looking good, I like the drill presses.

Thanks guys.

Trying to find more time to work on the shop.
I have been spending a lot of time working in the shop building a new vanity for one of our bathrooms.

Try to get a little done to it as I move along.
