Hi all been lurking here a while and have posted once before on the elctrical forum. This is not my garage as I only have a one car attached to my house, but this is the workshop I use. I primerily got it to build and run the race car but now use it to to work on all sorts of other projects as well as friends and other peoples cars. Its a bit off a mess as was in the middle of prepping a car for painting.

Let's hear about that hatch... I see some OZ's and looks like race tires at all 4 corners?

Re: My workshop the hatch and the paint job

Well thanks for showing some interest guys. I'll start with the hatch. Its a 1992 Ford fiesta, I built it from a road going car that failed its inspection (mot for the brits). It was built for the 750mc hot hatch championship for which I used to be the club rep. It is puerly a race car with an 1800cc zetec engine running on 4 seperate throtle bodies and race cams/head etc makes about 190bhp and is balasted up to the 800kg weight limit. It has fully adjustable coilovers all round and ****** cosworth brakes with willwood 4 pot calipers. The front end is rose jointed with adajustabel front arms for camber.
some pics of the original car and build can be seen here

Does anyone know if this car would be eligable in the scca championship or similar as would like to take it when I make the move to Fla.

As for the paint job it was a respray on an old 300zx tt that I have had since 1996 and keep promising myself to get finished and back on the road. The motivation of moving helps. I know I am not da vinci when it comes to painting but lots of flatting will sort the bad bits I hope.

Not a lot of racing classes allow engine swaps. While there are probably some low level type events you could run in here, nothing serious. You might find some time attack races that would allow you to compete, but that's not door-to-door racing. And with the type of mods you have, you could end up running in a catch-all Modified category that you would have absolutely no chance in. As with the UK, if you want to run competively in any racing class, you pretty much have to build a car just for the class. And starting with a UK vehicle is not the best way to go....most classes would not even allow it. As a "Track Day" car, you'd be fine; but if you really want to race, that's another story. Might be better off selling the car in the UK; it's not exactly cheap to bring a car over anyway.

Thanks for that it pretty much confirms my thoughts, I wasn't sure if they did the fiesta there let alone in 1800 zetec guise like here. A catch all type class is way out of the question as I have seen races like that and yes no hope. As for shipping the car was thinking i might have space in shipping container.
