Maybe not as good a deal as some of the barn finds you guys have been scoring  but I'm pleased.

Picked up a Wright Tools 958 18 pc metric combo set with a denim pouch for $126 on eBay. Listing said they were used, but not a scratch on them.

My first exposure to Wright and I must say I'm really impressed with the quality. They're really beefy. Won't be my last Wright purchase!

Great forum, BTW

I've seen those online. What I don't get is why there are usuallt several metric sets, mostly new ones, but almost never any sae sets? Yes, they have the bigger ones, but i mean regular 3/8 thru 1 1/4". Or maybe I'm just blind.

Are they US made? Just curious, because I bought some Wright extensions that were Taiwan made off of ebay, when I thought they were US.

Look really nice either way!

Taiwan Wright extensions? I think those are counterfeit; I've never seen a Wright extension that wasn't US made.

I've got an SAE set of Wright wrenches. Liked them so much I have Wright 1/2" drive sockets and a full set of 1/2" extensions now too.

Congrats and enjoy great American tools. Welcome to GJ BTW! Thanks for the pic.

Nice score. Those look like the old style metrics, before they switched to the Wright Grip on those too. Still, damn good wrenches and I use the same ones at work. Open ends have never failed me. Still need too many other tools to justifying buying another set of Wrights just to have a nice open end.

Too bad I bought the SAE and metric sets before they switched.

The only Wright tools not made in the US are the "Cougar by Wright" line, which many folks try to pass off as regular Wright. They're not marked as Made in US, and the dead giveaway is that the part numbers start with a letter (instead of being all numbers as the regular line.)

I have the same set as my goto wrench set. I used them for years in the field breaking apart flanges on rusty pipes and just beating the **** out of em. They still work like a champ and hardly a mark only had one break I turned my back and one of the other guys had a box locked on an open end and snap Of course. He had it replaced under warranty no questions asked. I also have a 3/8 and 1/2 cougar socket set and mine are us made but they are older. The sockets held up great but the ratchets tend to slip when really loaded. IMHO you won't find a better wrench for heavy work!

Their home in the metric drawer. Hated to not use the "Made in USA" denim roll bag ...

The SAEs are the next replacement ... BTW in this drawer is my first metric tool purchase, a SO 10 mm combo off the truck in 1972! Never thought I'd need metrics then, and whenever I did, always seemed to be 10 mm (still does)

Could be as far as the letter goes...All I know that its says "Wright" just like everything else that is made by them. Nice stuff, I really like them...just was suprised when I saw the Taiwan!

Glad to hear they are US. Just thought I would ask....either way they are *****'in!

So these are advertised as being USA made but are not?
