Hello, I have a problem. Just moved into new property with dream garage which has a four post lift.
I can find no identification on the lift. It does have cable damage so I am looking to replace it.
My problem is the hoist main post is 81 inches tall and I am having trouble finding a similar lift so I can try
it's cable. Anyone know of a lift with these short posts.

Maybe check with a place in your area that sells 4 post lifts? When I bought one of mine 2 years ago, I'm 99% sure he told me that they can order replacement cables if you give them the weight capacity and length.

If you have problems finding a cable source:

I have two older Rotary 2-post lifts. I have replaced the balance cables on both lifts (one lift has been narrowed by 18 inches to fit into my 2-car residence garage - hence the need for a shorter cable). I purchased stranded cable and replaceable end fittings from McMaster-Carr and assembled my own cables - these cable ends are designed to take the same loads as a crimped cable end. The nice feature of the replaceable end fittings is that you can replace the cable in the future without needing to buy new end fittings (the older lift is in my residential garage and the balance cables run on the bottom and with snow melt runoff (with road salt), I replace that cable about once every half decade or so). Assembling the cables can be a bit finicky to get the raw cut cable end into the fitting - you have to partially unstrand the cable to get a wedge in place and then restrand the end to fit into the cable end.

I wouldn't get under a lift that doesn't have any manufacturer info on it. As stated above, you can have cables made, but even the crappiest china lifts have brand markings.

Call SVI International to see if they can help you. They sell replacement parts for a many brands of lifts including manufacturers which are out of business.
