I was given this drill by some friends that run estate sales. Nobody bought it and they know I collect vintage power tools, so they brought it to me. I don't really know a lot about B&D, so bear with me. I've researched this a bit and so far I've come up with nothing. The data plate indicates it's a Type F. It's obviously an early 1/2" drill. It looks something like the type Fs I've run across, but the part of the housing where the gears are differs significantly from all of the examples I've seen. The closest I can find to it was in an article on Electrical Contractor. https://www.ecmag.com/section/your-business/100-years-innovation-history-electric-drill
It is similar to the Black & Decker drill pictured in this advertisement.
This has what looks like an old Standard #2 style 2 jaw chuck, while mine has a Jacobs. It does only have a single data plate like mine, while all other Type Fs I've seen have two. I contacted the person who wrote the article, but he was unsure of the model drill that was or where the image had come from. I've also been in contact with people at the Stanley Black & Decker in Towson, MD. They have a few old B&D people there still and they were all stumped by this drill.
Any help you all could provide me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
