So I had a ton of different work go through the shop in the spring and early summer and sweeping up one day I found this part. What is it? Brush retainer?

It is on a nickle in the pics.

We had all kinds of stuff from electric pumps, 12v wiring, small engine maintenance and repairs, welding, remodelling, fixed a larger bandsaw, and about anything else.It is my own shop and mostly my own stuff.

I had a student working part time in the spring to get caught up. I had him do oil changes on everything so maybe I need to check the tiller drives or something like that. We also put a new clutch in my VTX1800. I found this a month or two ago and just left it on my desk thinking the AHA moment would come along but I can't figure where it goes.

It was spotless clean when found so if it was a filler plug it was cleaned.

Well I say your ok you got some spare parts so it's fixed, whatever it was.
I agree it looks like a plug from a carb.

Holly Carb, not Harley Motor Cycle, does look like a float bowl plug. If you are not leaking or smwlling gas the ges set should be fine.

Better get the glasses out.:willy_nil That could be the answer. We never worked on one but I did move a shelf that had a box of carb parts, jets, gaskets etc. Maybe it was among that stuff.

It looks looks an end plug for a spray arm of a commercial dishwasher.

Well a dishwasher did get fixed but it was all plastic parts and no leaks in the house.

Oh boy. Ur in trouble now! Sumbuddy's gonna be pissed when the gas/oil/fluxamator fluid leaks out and their vehicle/motorcycle/bandsaw/dishwasher leaves 'em stranded on the wrong side of Dallas/the shop/dinner.

Dave, thinking brush cover.

Well I have some of those around as well and did a bunch of wiring in the remodel of the house. I will have to check but this is concave on the back and seems big for that.

My friend who is an industrial electrician was here looking at the bandsaw near where I found this so it may have come from his pocket. He was on the floor checking out the contactor and such.

Well it is likely to be me so that is why I want to resolve this. Otherwise I may carry it around for the next year waiting to do a roadside fix at the least opportune moment. It is snowing here today so we are getting closer to the moment I am sure.
