Mystery pliers: Henry G. Schaerf?

found these rattling around in a box of old tools at a defunct antique shop that had closed down (I was helping to clear out the building):

I tried a google search on the name, but nothing came up. Any ideas as to the age of these pliers, or what happened to the company that made them? There are no other markings on the pliers.

The red paint reminds me of a couple of pliers I have that have red painted handles and Germany on the mm but no brand IIRC.
