Yeah they first weren't going in, I had to make them smaller

Maybe a handle for camping pots and pans? Maybe a nut cracker? show the insides of the jaws.

The design appears to be made to pull something of fixed dimension. I would bet on a dedicated use in a production shop.

My first thought is for stretching upholstery webbing but I think those have a wide jaw.
