Mystery Scroll Saw

Got this at a garage sale. Pretty solid. Anyone have any idea who may have manufactured it?
It has a GE motor but no casting marks. There is a label on the front but it is illegible. All the pics I see on the web are driven on the right side this one has the pulleys on the left. Thanks

You're right. This saw looks different. I can't help with its information though.

When I am trying to figure out who a manufacturer is I go to the http://vintagemachinery.org/ and search their photo index by machine type.

I think you're going to end up finding that is a very old Delta.

The pulley configuration is definitely like Delta as are some of the parts but I have never seen a Delta that looked like that one. I have 1938 24" Delta and it is significantly different, yours is not just a size smaller. Up until about that time I also believe Delta used raised letters for their name. Curious.

What size is it? 15", 16", 18"?


I wonder if it could be an old Duro?

Thanks Zeke and 7th Kahuna I have looked at all the photos over there and nothing matches. Perhaps it isn't a US made saw. Its very solidly made and doesn't seem shoddy.
Some of the Atlas and Deltas were close but no cigar. you can see in the pic that the crane bolts to the base much lower than any of the Deltas and it has that wing nut tension adjustment. Also this one has no access plate to the eccentric cam on the right (non-drive)
side. I'm beginning to think its not US. its a 15" I think

BINGO!!!
I went back and looked at the Duros and sure enough there is a twin of mine that says it is a 16" Montgomery Ward Power-Kraft made by Duro. The pic has what looks like a decal in the front same shape and location as mine. Mine has no plates or numbers. The one on OWWM is 1938.

Glad you found it and glad to be of help. I learned something too. I didn't know Duro made tools for Montgomery Ward. Now its time to get it running.
