Saw this Snap-On box and got the guys number, he wants $40 for it. appears to be clean and obviosly sandblasted, which for me is better than spray bombed. Comes with a working key, probably not the original. Has an older logo, there's a guide on how to date it but whatever. I slid in-and-out a few random drawers and they were nice, not perfect, but nice sliding drawers. Comes empty.

Worth $40?

I would have bought that for 40 all day long. The mid box is likely late 50s/early 60s but you'll find out for sure when you look at the date stamp. It should be crystal clear on the back now that it has no paint left.

Looks nice, DD T/A. I think somebody restored the top SO box before and gave it another life. Now it's your turn! The screws are not original. However, I would not try to remove them unless they really bother you - consider spraying it with your paint of choice and you got a cool user. If you are into small restoration - restore the emblem to original color - some members here did magic with them before (look through the threads) .
A great point of KRA-56 is that the top of the box is deeper and you can stand tall sockets there better than in KRA-58.
Your box is definitely older than 1955 - look for the stamp, but you might not find one on older boxes.

I am not sure about the bottom box. If I had to guess, Waterloo or Waterloo made for other brand

I have an unrestored Snap On 420 which would be the correct box for your period. Please look at the pictures and color scheme of the emblem in case you decide to repaint it. Sorry for crappy pics - I guess camera felt sleepy to make better ones : )

You got them for a good price - will serve you for years. If you decide to paint/restore - please make a thread or just add it to this thread - it's always nice to see how people change/save/use their older boxes

...Here is mine from another post - wanted to restore it some time ago when I bought it, but decided to use as is. Its 1955.
