Sure looks like a soapstone holder, but it's pretty big at 12" long & 1/2" diameter.

Maybe for a heavy industrial application like for ship builders or something along those lines.

Interesting piece non the less!

So when you tighten down the end, it clamps down on the inside? I would like to agree on the soapstone holder, but that is huge.

Let's get a picture of the business end. And, with all due respect, are you certain it is "A 94" ? I can see the A & 9, just making sure there isn't another digit rubbed off or something...

That's a limited edition buddy poker for those late night engine builds. "Hey Ed, poke poke poke, you fell asleep over the motor again."

I saw something similar once, but could well be not related at all, I don't know what it is,

But could it be a part of the internals out of a large torque wrench,

years ago, we had a 4 foot 1 inch drive Britool torque wrench that was broken, and there was a piece similar to that in there,

At first glance, I thought it was a snap-on branded cheater bar! Now that would be cool.

More pictures would really help. is the collet opening round like a machine collet or is it just a X pattern of slots? Maybe a flat flex file holder? :dunno:
