Hi, for some reason I bought this. Maybe someone will need it for a restoration project. Can anyone tell me what kind of box it comes from? Its length is 11". Thanks!!

That looks pretty rough, are there holes on the ends for a handle/lock in bar?

socket tray with flip-over handle/retainer. there were a few of them on Ebay a few weeks ago for about $10-$15 a pop - that one you've got there, though, as he said above, is in pretty rough shape.

I would think that it was not part of a box, like a tool tray but was originally sold complete with sockets on it's own. It's lived a hard life but if you could rig up a handle from maybe some sheet metal and maybe rivet it together...I don't know...would that work? Then again, is it worth one's time. The badge is cool.

I have a set of Wright impact sockets that are in a holder like that. I actually like it pretty good............. until you're in a hurry and grab them the wrong way and dump all you're friggin sockets all over the floor......... never done that before lol.

That is a MAC socket tray. It was made to hang over the side of a MAC tool chest or roll cab.

Socket trays are great organizers for sockets and can be easily straightened up with a pair of pliers and/or hammer and dolly. With a little light sanding and a good scrub it could be repainted and made to look good as new.

Don't know about you guys but I still use the trays that came with my sockets. Why would you not invest 15-20 minutes and fix it up?

I like trays, no missing gaps or missed sizes...

I have a similar mac try for my set of metric 3/8 drive mac sockets. Bought new many years ago.

Craftsman sold lots of socket sets in metal trays, I have a few. And a few Macs for the impacts. And a few Ingersoll Rands also.
