Mystery Tool: can anyone identify this?

This has me stumped. It has no company ID, I bought it along with a bunch of machinist tooling, much of which was Hardinge. I did a Google Images search, and came up with "cylinder". Not helpful!

Has anyone seen one of these? What is it used for? Thanks in advance.

Probably not but it looks like it could be a clutch alignment tool.

If the end that is milled goes half way across i'd say it's an edge finder
