I was going through my tool boxes earlier saw this in there. I have had them for quite a few years and have never found what they are for. There 11 of them on the ring all different. One side has a Mc serial number ( MC-107-113) and on the other side is a four digit number (2.359). I am guessing some kind keymaking or locksmith tool but I have no real idea.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know anything else about them to help me decide whether to keep them or to pass them on to somebody who could make better use of them.

I don't think that's what they are. Your description doesn't make sense. If you could elaborate, it would be appreciated as I'm intrigued also.

Heres a better pic if that helps. Every one has different numbers on it but in the format I previously stated. MC number on one side and a decimal number on the other. The only difference between them that I could tell is that they are different lengths.

Yes, Carter for sure. They fit into an adjustable depth gauge to suit pump stroke inn many different carbs. If you do an image search you'll find pictures of the elaborate Carter tool kits that came in fitted boxes with neat spaces for everything.

Yep...vintage Carter. You can see them in the upper R.H. corner in this pic. If you do a search for Carter metering rod tools, the part shows up quite a bit

Here is where they measure the length from. It doesn't look like it's to the point, but to the straight portion before the point starts

Thanks everybody for the information. Ill have do some research before I decide what to do with them. I might post a couple of more tools tommorrow. One in particular gave me a headache trying to figure it out last fall. Its three plates with two mating holes in each plate and two of the plates have the letters STEMAC with an arrow above them. I was looking for some shim stock, thought about cutting them up, then figured if I cut them they would turn out to be some super rare part for some rare machine and I would cuss myself for all time for destroying. Ill post pics tommorrow or after the game if I feel up to it.
