I picked up a 70s vintage Craftsman tool chest a couple of months age which was full of tools. After sorting out all the chinese and cheap taiwan stuff,I was left with an interesting hodge-podge of tools, including these 4 wrenches in good condition, all stamped Made In USA,but no brand name.Does anyone have a clue as to who might have made them? 20170702_184435.jpg

I've gout a bunch of singles like those. I've wondered the same thing, but they're obviously low quality stuff. At least the ones I have are. Probably in the Oxwal quality range. As for who made them -- whoever they were didn't want their name on them.

I would guess pirates, not really made in U.S.A., unless another town in Asia is named Usa.

They look a lot like the "cheap" stuff Sears used to sell like 30 years ago (not Craftsman). I think I have a couple in my travel tool box.

I sometimes find them around the pawn shops here but have never been able to figure out who really makes them. The ones I picked up didn't seem like the greatest quality but they were better than most of the wrenches produced for the market today.

Looks like the "Sears" branded wrenches I bought back in the 70s when I was poor and couldn't afford the C-Man line. They were decent for the light work I was doing. I don't think they'd hold up for a pro mechanic.

I cant believe they have not named a city USA so they can put that on merchandise.

The bureaucrats are way ahead on that one:

What is the standard for a product to be called Made in USA without qualification?

For a product to be called Made in USA, or claimed to be of domestic origin without qualifications or limits on the claim, the product must be "all or virtually all" made in the U.S. The term "United States," as referred to in the Enforcement Policy Statement, includes the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories and possessions.
