I recently picked up a box and chests off an internet ad that had been posted for a while.
This top chest has really nice construction, but has no markings. It is heavy gauge steel that reminds me of the 1960's vintage Waterloo/Craftsman tool boxes. It also has drawer slides similar to the Waterloo/Craftsman tool boxes, but the drawer retention clips are pretty different than the ones I have seen (see photos). The drawer locking mechanism in the top lid is also different. There is a similar Craftsman mechanics tool box in the 1954 catalog (ad attached), but the lid lock is a chest type lock, not the cylinder type on this chest. The drawer pulls are also different (cast, not bent metal).
Do you have any idea who made this and the approximate vintage? I picked it up because I thought it would look nice on a 1960's Craftsman roller drawer tool box.
