MZ: you have a very cool vise that you are thinking about buying and also the B & D grinder looks like a keeper too. i'd put a wire wheel on the end of the grinder that doesn't have the guard. (post the new pictures here that you posted on the vise thread so everybody will know what i'm taking about).

as far as the missing part on the vise i think there might have been a lever to push down the swivel pin on the post you have in the picture. here's my Prentiss 19.5 vise with the part you might need. i didn't see any other missing parts so when you post the new pictures can you mention what else you think is missing?

MZ:Since you are new i thought i'd help a little and find the other vise that is like yours so you can see it if you haven't already. here's a thread on a similar Prentiss vise that looks like the one you are trying to buy. with a little oil and grease on yours it might not be as big, but every bit as nice a vise to own.

you might PM (private message) the owner of the vise that started this thread to see what he found out so far about his and he and you can maybe both add more information on your threads about these nice old Prentiss vises.
