My wife likes to buy old and weird tools and bought this when I told her not to and we would like to know what it's for. I think it's hand made forsome type of ppurpose you all tell me? My guess would be it's for a motorcycle shock or a vintage metal shop machine. Keep kinda far from each other lol....

1 of the millions made for the agriculture implement business late 19 early 20 century. my specific guess would be it was supplied with a smaller horse drawn planter or drill.

Thanks for comments lol the tool is roughly made and is very old so I know it's not a couple of answers at least. I know it's a useless piece of junk and told her not to buy it but she likes to buy weird tools specially wrenches. I'd say wrench guy is right for sure. Thanks again everyone!

Close. Looks like an acetylene bottle key.

Doubt that - tank wrenches were usually like the one in the picture, or if the small acetylene tank, a short little wrench with a square opening on either end.

Not by any means. You're just thinking of what you'd find at the LWS made today. They did not always look like this.

Back when B and MC cylinders were used for vehicle lighting, acetylene bottle keys were promotional items sold at gas stations and general stores and came in hundreds of styles.

Could be but I more think it came with an implement of some kind - hand wheeled cultivator, or similar. I've seen a lot of them, including some where the handle has the manufacturer's name cut out in the handle. The notches look to be too big for acetylene bottle stems. However it is what it is, and the wrench ain't talking. :lol_hitti

What says it isn't a bike multi tool?

Another item there a a billion styles and shapes floating around out there.

I have about thirty in my pile and see more every market visit.

Couple examples of stamped wrenches from that era:

I'm gonna retract my original guess and change it to a farm implement tool. The hex shape on that wrench would never work on an acetylene tank. If you google vintage farm implement tool you will see a lot similar to the ops.
