I am hoping to make 2014 the year I build my shop.

We are moving to North Central Florida next summer (I know, the hottest time of the year) and I’ll need a home for my 2 cars, plus a place to play around in.

I am going to be paying for this as I go, so I have thought I would just have the size be approx. 32 x 32 x 12. I could add on later if I need to, but for now I just can’t justify the cost (young family, etc).

So here are my questions or thoughts I would bounce off you guys.

1) I originally was thinking a stick built structure with 2 foot stem walls/ 2x6 frame for thicker insulation (to help a little with any termite/moisture issues)

*BUT*

2) I have also been looking into some metal structures. If I go this route, I have settled for Olympia Steel or Ameribuilt, unless someone can give me some other ideas.

3) I like the strength and ease of putting up a steel building, but I like the interior finished look of a stick built. I want to be able to use my walls to hang stuff. Can this be done? :dunno:

4) This will definitely need to be insulated. If the budget does not allow, could I insulate later?

My main priorities are insulation and finishing the interior.

Any thoughts on any of this?
