Anybody know who made this vise? My dad got it many years ago from his uncle in Detroit who worked for and retired from Ford Motor Company. He says it's from the 1930's. I could not find a name on it anywhere...only "No. 104" on the side.

Those both look like Reeds to me

At first I thought it was a Parker, then Reed, now I see that it could be a Yost. Some of the old vise designs seem to be very similar. Any reason why the manufacturer would leave off the name of their company?

Screetch: I'd say it's a YOST and a lot of the old vise companies were sort of related or had very close designs. also a reason for not putting a name of the vise company on the vise's side is maybe Yost made it for Ford or some hardware store that wanted to claim the vise as it's own with a box or sticker with their company's name on it.

nice looking vise!!
