Will the winning bidder notice the lack of a handle?

I'm tired I thought maybe it was an optical illusion

I looks to be one of those auctions that has so much stuff, there may actually be some gems in the dirt and mold. Guess not this piece.

Just Jonesing for any auction. Used to go to 50-60 live auctions a year have not been to any in two years.

To be fair, if you can somehow find a broken vise with the correct size handle/screw, and vise nut, (if the vise nut is also missing), you might actually end up with a decent vise, since presumable the original screw and/or vise nut broke well before any injury happened to the main cast parts.
The dynamic jaw, stationary jaw, and swivel base and components all look to be in fine condition, other than dome rust, and I don’t see much in the way of idiot marks on the top of the jaws.
The form of the castings actually look like a nice semi-clone of the Wilton bullet design.
Admittedly, this is based off of one crappy photo.

I couldn’t tell, but I thought maybe it might be all right since the guy had a garage full of snap on and Mac product, even a snap on welder

Some of the Asian imports are actually good stuff. I've been using one for most of thirty years and it's still my most used vise out of three I have mounted. The other two are USA and excellent vises, but the Asian is the most versatile.

But the missing screw? Non-starter. Unless the screw is lying around somewhere and can be found, it's scrap metal. Check spot prices for iron.

I wasn't there probably 15 minutes, leaving before start.

Mostly junk or well used brand name tools. The handle was indeed snapped off that vise, wouldn't be worth the effort to remove it from the bench.

The Blue Point air compressor, looked in pretty good shape, but the auction pickins were so slim, they would have fought over it like hungry dogs, with money.

Thanks everyone for the input.

You can see where a reinforcement plate was added to address reducing normal door-banging wear & tear.
