I have a right angle die grinder. 4-5 years old. Countless hours on it with no problems

I am positive they are all rebrand tools mainly IR. I find them a little pricey. They are pretty solid though.

NAPA branded air tools are not made by Ingersoll Rand, I'm not sure who makes them but definitely not IR.

Balkamp is listed as maker for Napa Professional line. Just thinking about an impact and wanted some feedback.

Balkamp is not a manufacturer of anything. They are a name that Napa uses for a lot of their products. The product is produced by different companies and sold under the Balkamp name. Do a Google search for Balkamp.

I've never owned one, but guys in the shop (mainly apprentices) own a few and I'd have to say they're okay for the home/hobbist but not suitable for the workplace (cheap tools cause people with poor tools to borrow). Low Power and High Air Consumption short life are the signature of cheap air tools. The short life aspect isn't an issue for someone who uses it a few times a year and add's a bit of air tool oil when they use it.

When I started with the company I am currently employed with, I went to Napa and bought several of the air tools (3/8 and 1/2 impacts, 3/8 and 1/2 drills, buffer, cutoff wheel, and the long die grinder). They have been riding in the back of a service truck for about a year and a half. No issues yet to speak of. The 1/2 imact is a little weak sometimes but it has been reliable.

Ive been using the magnesium impact professionally for about seven years...The first one I got quit after a few months, so I exchanged it for the one Im using now. I saw many of them brought in for warranty. My current one works ok, but it will "start up" on its own if left plugged in, its a hassle...imagine an impact swivel and socket swinging around like unbalanced rotor blades. LOL! I dont recommend it, way more torque than a bottom of the barrel impact, but far less than better ones ive tried. Even for the diy guy I think you should get something else. I also got the 3/8 super duty air ratchet at the same time, and it has been pretty good. The problem ive had is you do not want to "over oil" it..more than a couple drops, and the damn thing locks up.

I don't know about the lifespan but the lower power and high air consumption are signature of CH (and some other "brands" that we wonder about the origin)

I used one of the 1/2" drive Torque Dominator impacts at work,it seemed to be a pretty good ratchet although I didn't like the forward/reverse and power settings control...similar to the C-man pro models. You can get Ingersoll Rand impacts through Napa though, which I did.Paid just a little more than if you shop online for one but I have excellent service and put it on the charge account so...

I have a composite version of thier 3/8,1/2,and 3/4 impacts. Reasonably confident they are rebranded CP units. Two words, rock solid!
