Get one! You will love it! It's worth at least 5 times the money of what they're asking for it. The quality is off the charts! How can I be this exited about a scraper you say? Get one and you'll find out! :bounce:

I have a couple of those types not the NAPA brand. I find razor blade refill scrappers to only be good for removing stickers/ decals on glass and not much else.

Letting us know why you're getting all giggly about it would be a good start. What task did it excel at that made you come here with a some excited words and a part number?

Three reasons:

1. I love the ergonomics of the handle. I don't want to let go of it.

2. I love the operation of the slide mechanism to lock the blade in place. It's exquisite and absolutely brilliant.

3. The materials used in its manufacture are top notch.

I'll be that guy.

I've got this one from Lisle. I like it because it's long allowing me to get down to the base of the windshield for removing registration stickers. It's also really easy to change out blades, which store in the handle.

South Main Auto - and others - swear by these carbide scrapers, also from Lisle. I don't have them myself. Haven't been able to pony up $40+ for them yet.

I have the Lisle razor blade scrapper and it's really not that good I prefer the cheap harbor freight one. The Carlyle one looks to be a improved version of the Harbor freight one I think it will be a future purchase next time at NAPA.

I'm assuming that it takes single edge standard razor blades. I've been looking for a decent one for a while.

I went to pick one up and the one they had in stock had the same part number but was labeled on the actual tool, “Napa“, not Carlyle.

Are those carbide scrapers really that good? I have had some cylinder base gaskets on ATV's that are hard as a rock and no kinda scrapers I have will touch them. Also can they be resharpend?

The carbide scrapers do work good, but you need to be careful with them when scraping aluminum, they will easily gouge if you're not very careful, pulling works best. I find brake kleen & a razor works best for RTV and such on aluminum. They excel with steel & cast iron, scraping rust is no issue.

I have Super scraper brand and they can be resharpened (if needed) by sending back to the manufacturer. Mine are about five years old and work without issue. http://www.superscraper.com/

The Napa unit does look quite nice.....
