NAPA Impact Sockets: Are Carlyle & Sunex the same?

OK, for years Napa's impact sockets were rebranded Sunex.
Now Napa's impact sockets are Carlyle.
The Carlyle part numbers are the same NPT prefix as the Sunex were.

When I compare pics of Carlyle and Sunex impact sockets, they look identical.
Even some of the sets contain the same number of pieces/sizes.

So, are Carlyle impact sockets simply rebranded Sunex?

I always had my suspicions as well. If anybody would know, it would be someone on this forum. Hopefully we have an answer, because i'll start buying from napa!

I'd bet money they're Sunex. They look exactly the same.

They are Sunex, the replacement ones I've gotten are the same socket. Just re-labeled.

I've noticed a lot of Napa/Carlye stuff looks like it would be rebranded. I'm not sure by who though. I think they rebrand a lot of companies.

Sunex for sure. Ive been using a 21mm Carlyle 1/2 deep well impact at work for lug nuts for about a month and its held up well. Nothing particularly spectacular about it , it just works and it being 10 bucks at the NAPA next to my shop I cannot complain at all.

Yeah, they're Sunex same as the NPT ones. They're just etched with Carlyle instead now.

I have always thought that there is just one factory somewhere in Taiwan cranking out Sunex, Grey Pneumatic, and fill in the blank brand impact socket sets. They just alternate between blue or red blow molded cases, and cardboard boxes but. that's just me.
Any of the brands mentioned will serve you well and NAPA offers nearby warranty service if ever needed.

Are sunex and gp from the same factory? Anybody know for sure?
It's always struck me as funny that the sunex logo looks more like a GP than an S.

Funny thing about Napa because years ago they had a numbering system from New Britain and they used the very same numbers for the Danaher products (at least if my memory is still good and I think it was Danaher).

You could pick up a ratchet Stamped NB-*** and it was no longer from NB but from another company. Don't know if they still use the very same numbers?

I would guess anything goes for the products made today for Napa.
