The NAPA guy dropped off a third quarter real deals flyer today, and I thought I would point some interesting deals for you guys that frequent NAPA. Don't ask for pictures because there are no links and the flyer is too big. Anyway, on the cover is a new 7 drawer tool cart that ressembles a Cornwell 700 series cart for $399. I'm going to check this out when they show up in the store as I want to make a crash cart for my laptop based scan tools. If it's like their other Homak made cart, it should be good.
They also have a NAPA version of the Gearwrench two piece roto ratchet set complete with blue and gold handles for $49.95. Keeping with the Gearwrench theme, someone was looking for an 8-19 mm reversible combination wrench set without capstop, Napa has them on special for $92.99 and the SAE set is only $54.99. They also have some pretty good deals on the XL Gearbox sets. There's also a master torx set with tamperproof, regular, and external torx sockets that's on sale for $41.99 with is less than half of what the set runs at tooltopia. If you guys frequent your local NAPA, check out the flyer there. Prices are good until 30 September.

What colors are available for that cart? Does it have empty storage space in the bottom, or is it like the one you have (all drawers)?

The one I'm talking about has no bulk storage area, all drawers. It comes in red, blue, and black. NAPA also has a different cart part number BK8040 with 4 drawers and bulk storage on sale for $249. They're like clones of the Matco or Cornwell versions.:wtf:

I found the assembly instructions for that BK8040 cart

If they had it in yellow I would have bought it over a real cornwell

that should show up for you guys. if not let me know and ill take the link down. i was able to sign in to it via napa prolink.

also, i dont know how many of you guys use world-pac for foreign parts. but they are distributors of gear wrench tools. stupid crazy prices on them. World pac is owned by car-quest i believe. so should be able to get those prices through car quest if you deal with them and not worldpac.

Seen the 4 drawer cart @ the local Napa. Very nice! Really makes you realize the quality difference from the HF cart. I picked up the GW roto head set a couple weeks during the fathers day sale @ sears for $27 half off sale. Great ratchets.

Swung by my local NAPA to see if I could get any more info on the 7 drawer cart. The guy behind the counter said he didn't have any more info because it wasn't available until mid July, and none of the other NAPAs had them in stock either. Anybody know the measurements of the 7 drawer cart? If it is as nice as sthe 4 drawer service cart, it is probably a great buy.

I have always wondered why there aren't more comments about the NAPA sales catalogs.

They seem to always have a good selection of special tools, and from the few times I have bought from NAPA (the ONLY place I will buy non-OEM parts), they will discount from the price shown.

The NAPA real deals flyer is usually distributed to their commercial customers quarterly. Some stores have a couple of copies laying on the counter at times. There's a different monthly flyer that is aimed at consumers or the DIY crowd. The monthly flyer doesn't usually feature a lot of tools except around the holidays like last months flex head Gearwrench special for Father's day. I'm waiting to see if the Napa line of professional hand tools becomes completely rebadged Gearwrench since, KD tools stopped making hand tools last December.:(

the 4 drawer cart is not the same as the cornwell cart. It is like a 3/4 version in size and quality. For the money its a nice cart, but don't think its the same. I have both the Napa version and the Cornwell version.

I would guess the 7 drawer is the 4 drawer cart only with 7 full drawers.

Guys around here don't seem to have too much respect for anything with the word taiwan on it's side, unless it's gearwrench. I'm guessing the napa sockets you are seeing are gearwrench units with a napa logo on the side (I just bought the 3 pc brake caliper hex bit set($9.99) and last month I got the external torx bit set($38.99)
In my area which is 55 miles from Boise, unless you have a tool truck visiting your shop every week, napa is about the best option I've found for warranty situations

It varies. Imported tools from Taiwan and the PRC don't covet the lust that imported tools from Europe get. this causes a lot of people to miss out on some excellent tools as they shy away from the Taiwan manufacturing. However, there have also been threads about the quality of Grey Pneumatic impact sockets and some Sunex items too. I think the Napa line of professional hand tools will be all rebadged Gearwrench items within the next year. Of course most Gearwrench tools are now made in the PRC instead of Taiwan. Their torque wrenches are US made though.

Yeah some of their prices are a little frustrating but most of their stuff is negotiable especially if your shop does a lot of business with em
