In Napa the other day and they had a big box and chest for $800 (I think)..

Looked really nice. The price seemed pretty good.

Anyone know anything about it? Is it made in USA? How does it stack up to the HF box?

I think I can get 7% off with AAA.

Mainly just daydreaming because I could really use a big box. Could probably get the HF US General setup for a little less with the right sale/coupon - but would obviously feel a little better about getting a good quality US box.

Edit, found their site:
http://www.homaktools.com/toolcarts.htm

I think it was the 41" setup.

Just stopped into another Napa to pick up some things.

They had a box on display as well. It was a smaller one. $350 for both pieces. Not a bad deal IMO.

Homak bought Kennedy about 2 years ago. The bigger ones, I think, are made in Van Wert at the Kennedy Plant. They are basically Kennedy boxes with Homak names, last ones I say any way. Either way the quality should be excellent, Kennedy boxes are known for quality.

Both 41" both black, very similar set up. I know the Kennedy is made in Van Wert Ohio, Homak looking very similar should too. The Homak Big Dwag is the Benchmark series boxes of Kennedy.

I have a 41" Homak I bought at Sam's about 9 years ago. Very stout drawers, much better than the HF ones- even though I could but the HF ones to good use.

I've been on the hunt for another one just like it on CL for quite a while now, I finally found one and let my buddy have a shot at it, since he had been dying for one too.

Looked at a nice chest and box combo in a NAPA store at about that price. Clerk looked it up. It's made in China. It's a nicer box that the HF box.

Yea, that stinks.. I was thinking maybe there was an affordable USA box out there. Oh well. I'm sure it's a nice box, but I'd probably just go with HF. The US General boxes are very nice from what I hear, and with the right coupons, will be a lot cheaper.

Kennedy produces boxes under the Kennedy brand name. Kennedy also has produced/ produces a majority of Napa toolboxes over the past several years. Kennedy makes the Homak/Big Dawg professional line series of toolboxes for Homak who in turn supply Napa as i've recently acquired that info.. Some of Homak boxes are made in fact made in China. And last but not least. Homak doesn't has never owned Kennedy. A holding company bought the bankrupt Kennedy plant and i believe also the Homak plant as well several years ago. I will tell you this Kennedy still produces the highest quality tool boxes in the world. Made by Americans in America. If i buy,it is directly from the company kennedymfg.com. Now you know.

The Kennedy cantilever boxes and small hand boxes, are all made by Homak to Kennedy specs. The reall are well made, all roll aways and top boxes are made by Kennedy. As noted above, Kennedy is Kennedy, and is not owned by Homak.

I need to get a bigger setup too. My SO rollaway and MAC top chest is cramed full of tools and many more in box's as they don't fit. I want USA made. My ols setup is like 30 some inches wide and I don't remember how many draws. I think the MAC chest is better built then the SO bottom. So what about these "Extreme" box's any good and USA?
Your opinions are needed please.

Thanks, JASTECH
