Napa tools 70% off

Napa is having a sale on their tools 70% off, at least where I go. Most of their stuff is Taiwan or American made; on par with Blue-point, Gearwrench. I really like the swivel sockets I got for under $20. Compare these to Matco's, the only truck that stops by my job, for $325 or so. Off subject, no Snap on where I work because the other guys literally kicked him out for not honoring warranty. For new techs, don't buy Snap on new because it is never worth it anymore. More and more China for Snap on prices; change the game or the game will change you.

This is because they're switching parent brands (supplier's) for their in-house stuff (like GearWrench...Danaher... I'm not 100% sure??). My commercial manager for our shop was explaining this to me about two weeks ago when I was trying to see if a warranty was available on a 3/4"-to-1/2" impact reducer (which they aren't btw lol...) and he was venting all of his book frustrations to me because most of the old part #'s weren't swapping over with the new tools. The new one we got is holding up good so far, so we'll see. At least I haven't broken it in the fashion I had done previously.

Napa tools can fair just fine vs. truck brands, I'll agree. I'm especially fond of their newer air tools. I have a short barrel, reduced-vibration air hammer that works awesome and was typically about $74-150 LESS than said 'X' tool truck brand and it's a beast. I have some of their older chrome lines and they seem to be holding up well also.
Some of their rough diamonds are actually EverCraft (Taiwan) universal sockets. I'd put them on par with Craftsman or even SK and they're only about $6 a piece.
I like it because they'e available in a pinch and your Napa store can send a parts runner out to even drop your stuff off. Quite convenient and I always end up needing these types of things on a day where the tool trucks have already came or haven't and may possibly NOT show up that day.

Going in the morning to see what's going on... Hopefully some 70% off action

Same here. The NAPA store we have is set back at the end of a dead-end street with NO advertisement or signs anywhere to be seen. I didn't know we even had a NAPA until a couple years ago. Hopefully this means plenty of tools left over!

I highly recommend their 10 inch NHT P28 slip joint pliers on sale for $7.65

The handles are very beefy and comfortable.

Just stopped by my local NAPA... I didn't see anything 70% off or hardly USA made for that matter... Gonna go try a few more around town though.

Some NAPAs don't have tools or have very few. Only one of the 4 or 5 stores in my area has a decent selection. I bought some of the nice Witte-made screwdrivers. I got 5 or 6 for around $20.

I stopped in today. My store had a decent selection of sockets, but not much else left. I picked up a 1-1/8" socket, a 1/2" breaker bar, 8" 1/2 drive extension, a 1.5" 1/4 drive extension, and another socket I was missing for $25.

I made a list of sockets that will complete my Hansen trays, and I am going back tomorrow to grab individual sockets...

Your nearest NAPA distribution center will have a lot more tools. Forget about those franchise stores...

I can't believe I didn't know this was an option. I picked up a 1 1/2" socket, and 3/16-3/8 hex sockets today for a little under 20.

Have been trying to warranty out my NB-56 for about a month. Keep telling me it's back-ordered, but they'd have it before the switch. Guess I'm screwed...

The Carlyle wrenches are not the same as Mac KS wrenches, I don't believe. The Knuckle Savers are made in the USA.

NOT TRUE!!! The Mac Knuckle Saver wrenches are US made and the current Knuckle saver 2s are based on the full polished Proto anti slip design wrenches.

The Carlyle long wrenches are unique to themselves having teeth with the radiused v notch open end and made in Taiwan. They're nice wrenches but, not a tool truck brand clone. :WTF:

Thanks! Im gonna try to make it Friday

They are USA made! I snapped a picture earlier, but our Internet is down and I can't upload from my phone.

Internet is back up:

This is what you are looking for. Anything with this style tag is 70% off. Everything I got is made in USA, and each tool is stamped "USA" as well

So you can just walk into the distribution center and buy?

Instead of being a tiny mom and pop franchise, it's a real NAPA store in front of a massive two story warehouse with forklifts and Freightliners going in and out of there.

Mostly if not all USA made in my area.

70% to 75% off list.

This is not new news.

I've even had a local NAPA order in discontinued tools from FL and NY shops on items that are availiable but not local and being phased out. Anything with the old NHT stamp is still on markdown.

You just gotta know your local shops.

Which shops still have stuff around us Jerry? I was at the cleves store a short while back and didn't see anything marked down. I'm on the lookout for a good long pattern metric combo wrench set specifically, but I don't know if they'd have anything like that.

I don't have the extra bucks to spend. We do have a large cow town Napa that always has tools hanging on the pegs/hooks and old stock.

Did you go in the back rooms with the super secret stash of the stuff on the old peg boards and in boxes and left overs Greg?

Once they pulled the NHT tool boards on July 1 with the Carlyle roll out it all just got shoved in the back and they did not care about it, even to this day. I just ask and I get chaparoned back behind the counter in the hard parts racks to oogle and pick what I want from the leftovers (at 70-75% off list still) but they can get in stuff from any NAPA if you have a P/N or Set P/N ya want that is still NHT stamped.

Same with Gest St, Colerain and Harrison stores.

Arrgh. I had no idea. I don't frequent the place terribly often, as when I go in there normally I have to show the guy behind the counter how to look up audi parts on their computer system. I'll have to check it out soon.
Thanks!

This morning I went to the Indy distribution center. First off, they had the entire tool section cordoned off with a sign "see associate for assistance." That pretty much pissed me off right from the start but all I saw was Taiwan stuff and nothing marked 70% off.
