I have a storage cabinet that is 3' wide x 4' high x 18" deep. It is beside a tool chest that is 24" deep. The storage cabinet is beside a doorway. I figure if I push the storage cabinet even with the tool chest then I will have a 6" wide x 3' deep x 4' high area that I can utilize for storing..... something. Any ideas? The cabinet is in the welding area of my garage, so hopefully something related to metal working. Best idea I have so far is drop pieces of material - either plate/sheet metal or sticks of material under 3' long.

Ideas? Thanks all.

Yep, sounds great for various metal pieces. I have a couple nooks like that. One has various short lengths of PVC and conduit. The other has threaded rod, tubing, dowels, etc that are shorter than 6ft.

Why not build a box on wheels that will roll into the narrow area. You could lay tracks to guide it as it rolls into the narrow space.
