Narrow space torch cart

Since posting equipment this morning I thought about showing some more of my junk. I designed this cart for available space. It is 3/4" EMT and scrap. I did buy the steel wheels from Northern. It tips back easily outdoors and rolls on the nose wheel in the shop.

I wanted to get one of those, I went to the welding store and they were like 400.00. I will be copying that.

I really like that, I built one many years ago using a heavy duty hand truck as a base and have been thinking about modifying it by moving the axel forward to make tipping it up easier. After seeing yours I will be moving the axel forward and down and adding a caster to the front for ease of moving in the shop.

In retrospect I would use two casters on the front. It is "slightly" tippy so I'm careful when rolling around the shop (mostly around expansion joints). I bought a electrical conduit bender to fabricate the EMT and designed "on the fly". Thanks for the comments!

Here's one I made. A solid rest in front and smaller wheels right at the back. It works just fine as it is always on concrete.

It started out as a cart for my Lincoln AC-225, but that was wall mounted by the door after a very short period of time. That's the reason the cart appears to have two floor rails.

I like it! Do you have an item number for the wheels? I couldn't find them at Northern Tool. Maybe you meant a different Northern??

No I have not built one yet, but it is on my list.

I did buy the wheels from Northern Hydraulics several years ago. They may have discontinued them.
