Hello all, First off my location is Loveland, CO.
I think I have it narrowed down to 2 heaters for my new 24"x20" x9" garage.
I will be insulating the ceiling and walls and sheeting them with OSB.
Eventually I will be running some NG out there but for now I am going to have to go electric.
Does anyone have any opinions on these 2 heaters? Or which one would be better? I am also open to buying 2 of them and only running on when I am out working. (I do that in my 20x20 garage with baseboard heat)

At night I will try to keep the garage 45-50 and would like to be able to work in 60-65.
Thanks

Mike

My guy feeling says to go with the beige one. It's simpler and doesn't have a circuit board.

The black one did receive a Q&A answer that it will go as low as 41 degrees.
With the beige one and knob they are a pain to set and you have to get on the ladder everytime.

With the remote and digital thermostat it's pure luxury, but if it's a interim thing until you get gas, then just get the cheaper one.

I just returned a 240v heater identical to the beige one. On a dedicated 50amp circuit Its output was pathetic in a ~45 degree shop. Set to full blast I could easily hold my hand in front of it from 2 feet away all day. The fan had no shroud so it just flung the air out of every hole and crevice in the housing.

Thanks for all the replys. It will be a little while till I can run NG out to the shop. Probably a couple of years.
So I just wanted to do the Electrical for now.

That's odd, I had the Dayton G73 which is the real one, 10 years ago it was the only one to get before all these clones are available. A lot of members have the real Dayton.

It easily blow 20 feet to the end of the garage. as I recall you cannot set the blast of the fan speed.

2 car garage heated quickly in the 40s.

I would still get the real dayton again if you can find one, I see grainger sells it for $300, but they were never sold much lower than that.

Either unit will output the same heat. Is the remote worth $60 for your intended use?

I used a heater similar to the cheaper unit for a while in my 30’x40’ garage. It was undersized but did help until I installed the natural gas heater.

99.9% sure that Marley Engineered Products makes the “real” Dayton and the Fahrenheat models. I ordered the 5k version from Blains Farm and Fleet a few years ago. It’s output is ok. Nothing to write home about, but my 20x20 attaches garage isn’t insulated so it isn’t a fair assessment...

I just installed the Profusion in my garage about 2 weeks ago. Its an attached 24'x24', one shared insulated wall, others are not insulated but drywalled, ceiling is insulated. That little heater is great! The air throw from the fan to where I can feel anything is about 10'. I will say that the heat distribution is pretty equal though. I would absolutely buy it again, and recommend it.
