Since the last group buy was intertwined with multiple pain points, I would be surprised if NAT would be open to another...But you never know. It could be a slow month.

Just called NAT, and they gave me a nice discount for mentioning Garage Journal. If you're interested, I suggest you do the same. Can't wait to get it installed!

$2150+tax is what I paid. Not sure if they'll honor it for everyone, but for $150 more than the discount price for that other lift, I'm very happy.

Jacobsed offered to show me his C-7000 but I haven't been able to take him up on his offer, yet. However, his pictures and feedback have been helpful and the more I learn about the C-7000 the more I want one over the $1999 MaxJax I can get through Costco.

MaxJax currently has a recall to address deficient welds. Such poor quality control for a safety related product is inexcusable and I'm hoping the same plant in China is not manufacturing the C-7000?

The group buy discount would have been nice but I hope to pull the trigger as soon as my bonus check arrives in mid March (thank you Ford Motor Co.) if NAT will still accept $2150. It's a fair price for a real lift and a much better value than MaxJax.

That's a good deal! I paid the $2225 GB price (shipped, no tax) and I couldn't be happier. I did have an issue with my flow divider, but a phone call and I had a replacement that fixed the uneven lifting a few days later.

After reading more about the current MaxJax recall for insufficient welds, it makes you wonder who in China builds all these affordable lifts for so many different retailers and what kind of quality standards are used. I’m skeptical of the quality consistency of anything made in China, due to personal experience in my auto industry profession, so I did some quick internet searching to see who builds the Triumph C-7000. It appears Shanghai Fanbao is the source for the Triumph C-7000 and the HAPP90 marketed in Australia? I’m hoping Fanbao and their suppliers maintain high quality standards and I’m still hoping to purchase one, soon, from NAT. I also wonder if Fanbao would direct sell "replacement" wheel sets? It could offer a quick and simple bolt-on if shipping charges are reasonable. Here are a few links if anyone’s interested:

NAT is located in Fort Worth. Maybe you can just go there and check one out?

I received mine a few weeks ago. Trying to get the garage cleaned up so I can stand it up and figure out where I want it mounted. What spacing are you guys using?

I am jealous of that price JonM got!

Also, regarding wheels. I can't say what it would be like to roll these posts around if it had the build it wheels but I think for the few times I do it that I will be happy using my hand truck.

If you don't move it often or very vary far you can also just kind of walk it by waggling it around.

I have mine spaced with a 101" drive through clearance.

jacobsed,

I see that you used Wejit expoxy anchors for use with 3/4" bolts. The lift came with 5/8" bolt anchors (actually 16mm) and the maxjax also used a 5/8". Any particular reason you went with 3/4". I was planning on using the 5/8" bolt epoxy anchors from wejit.

What size pads did you pour?

Mine came with anchors from the China factory. I don't remember the metric size. And NAT included Powers brand drop in anchors with 3/4" bolts. I opted for the 3/4" epoxy anchors.

The first time I installed I had to cut the concrete and made a 16" footer. 12" below the 4" pad. 3' x 3' keyed into the existing slab by 6 inches all around.. After I moved and built a new polebarn garage, I had them pour 16" deep x 4' wide x 20'ish long where the lift was going.

Btw, the WejIt epoxy anchor system is awesome. You'd have to break the floor out before they would ever fail.

What epoxy did you use and how much did you need. I am sorting through mcmasters site and weijets site but mcmasters uses different part numbers.

I used this epoxy cartridge from my local Menards. The spec sheets matched up great with the Wegit spec sheet. I think I purchased 4 of them and took one back.

Btw, I had called Wejit and they told me the best and cheapest place to buy was from McMasters.

I have reviewed everything I can find on the C7000. Here is what I am going with

I am planning on going with 100" between front edge of post feet which is 130" between back edge of post feet.

I am going to be using Wejit PowerSert 7/8" anchors which take a 5/8" bolt. These anchors have 2.5x the tensile strength of the 3/4" (1" hole) Powers drop anchors provided to some of you. The Wejit 1" Anchors which take a 3/4" bolt seem to be way overkill.

I am testing my alignment and positioning of my towers. This is going to sound stupid, but where do you place the jack pads on your vehicle for unibody cars. Do you use the spare-tire-jack points directly behind the wheels? This is what I usually use for jack and jack stands.

Depends on the weight distribution. Bendpaks come with a chart for just about ever standard car. Not sure what this comes with.

The price difference is ~$3 per anchor. For less than $20 per post I'd rather have way overkill. Don't forget the C7000 lifts higher and has a larger weight rating than MaxJax.

I googled for the Bendpak installation manuals. Here is a link for the XPR-9.

http://www.bendpak.com/XPR-9 REV A 01-10-11.pdf

On page 30 it talks about different jack points. It has confirmed that the spare tire jack tabs are what you should use on unibody cars. It also talks about different full frame type vehicles.

The last piece is getting the car aligned so that the car's weight is evenly distributed front to back. The Bendpak manual suggests for most cars that this will occur with the lift centered at the front door windows as most cars are heavier in the front. This is shown on page 32.

I was taking measurements with my lift and car yesterday and if I center the lift between my jack point tabs the lift ends up approximately aligned with my front door. windows.

I'm not comparing this to Maxjax. The C7000 ships with some M16 bolt (~5/8) - 7/8" hole, no name drop style anchors. There are no specs on these but the max tensile strength of any similar product on the marker is 16.5k. (Using Wejit PD58 as example). I doubt the no-name anchors are anywhere near 16k.

The Powers 3/4" bolt - 1" hole, drop in anchors that some early installations shipped with only have a tensile strength of 10k lbs in 4k PSI concrete
(Source: http://www.powers.com/pdfs/mechanical/06308.pdf)

The Wejit 5/8 Bolt - 7/8" hole, Power Sert epoxy anchors have a tensile strength of 26k lbs! The 3/4" Bolt - 1" hole epoxy anchors you used have a tensile strength of 46k lbs!
(Source: http://www.toggler.com/wejit/techspecs_power_sert.html)

I spent a lot of time on this, and the 5/8" Epoxy anchors far exceed anything shipped with the product. The 5/8" anchors also exceed the tensile strength of the 3/4" stud installations used on much heavier duty lifts. The concrete will break up around the anchor before these anchors pull out.

In Post #103 you referenced the anchor size of the MaxJax so thats why I mentioned it.

You have ovbiously done great research and are making an informed decsion. Although I'm not sure why you concluded that saving a few dollars is not worth the larger anchor. Seems like that is an area where spending a little gains you a lot.

As far as I know, they still ship the Powers anchors with the lift (along with the no-name that come from the lift manufacturer). In fact, NAT contacted me a few weeks ago about sending them some pictures of my lift in exchange for some free product. I chose a second set of anchors and they sent me another set of the Powers.

Its a combination of things actually. Ill dive into it since it may be of use to some other folks

C7000 base plates holes are ~3/4" diameter. I have seen some installs on this forum where the anchors were slightly misaligned and the users had a difficult time with the 3/4" bolts.

Additionally, the minimum recommended distance between anchors to achieve max strength for the 5/8" anchor is 8.625" and the min spacing for the 3/4" anchor is ~9.75". Since the post hole spacing is ~5" in the rear and 8" between the front and rear holes you cannot even achieve max yield on the 5/8" anchors let alone for the 3/4". This furthers my belief that the limitation will be the concrete.

Lastly, while the cost difference is small, I may plan some additional spacing options which will require more anchors and I do plan to set up a separate pad in my driveway to achieve full height. Long term the additional costs do add up a bit and the cost and
additional hassle do not seem justified.

Also, the cheapest place to buy Wejit fasteners seems to be Stanley Supply Online.
