Friend of mine has it. I spilled a beer on it and asked him for a rag to clean it up. he said not to worry as it would disappear. It went down below the surface of the stone and makes its way to the drain.
I didn't go that route because of concern of spilling oil and such.
His does not have a smooth surface.
I don't know if an epoxy type coating could be applied to completely smooth the surface.
