Anyone in the NE Ohio area had and good/bad experiences with any specific builders?

I am in very very pre-planning stages just to get an idea of what I can do, what it will cost, etc.

Thanks.

Hey all, sorry to be so vague. Canton, OH here.

I am leaning towards a pole building garage. Stick frame might be an option but I have a feeling it will quickly get too expensive.

Overall size, right now looking at 28x38x17' max height per zoning without a variance. I know this size is not ideal for a pole build, but I need to maximize my zoning allowance and 24' gets tight sometimes front to back.

Attached photo give you an idea of what I am after. I would really like to be able to do a loft of a portion of it for storage, dunno if that is possible though given the height restrictions.

16x9 doors in pic. Thinking possibly one 16x9 and one 9x9 with "work area" rather than the larger door. Dunno.

Few more details... Has to be residential-proper, no steel siding or roof. Ideally, vinyl side to match house (built in '98) , asphalt roof, etc. Maybe T111 with a nice stain, although that requires maintenance.

Hi...You owe it to yourself to check out One-Day Garages based in Hubbard. I used them on my 40'x40' and was totally pleased with the price and quality of workmanship. They have their own in-house lumber mill, and buy off of themselves saving you the middle man mark-up. They have a website you can pull up to check out their work. If you call them and give them an idea of what you're looking to do, they'll come back within a day with an estimate that's pretty much spot-on.

And no, they didn't build my 40'x40' in 'one day'...more like three weeks...well worth the time, for sure...

Thanks all.

I talked to DIY over the past few days. They were very responsive and sent me various quotes with different sizes, heights, options, etc.

There are surely many guys around this area that can put up a pole barn. I just want someone honest and reputable. Even if I get a kit from someone like DIY, still need to make sure I get someone honest to put it together for me.

Might checkout a place in Canfield, and have a few places in Hartville to call. Amish is hit and miss. Sometimes you call an "Amish" shop and they sub out the work. This happened to a friend of mine, the building came out okay, but the quality could have been a little better.
