Thanks for the complements y'all!

The lights are LED Lithonia IBH 15,000 lumen fixtures. Just make sure you buy the chain kit if you're going to be hanging them from the ceiling. Freaking love these things!

Epoxy coat kit ordered today and lifts have left the warehouse in Kentucky!

I think he is just busy. I googled the place and it is up and running and there are pictures showing it in the current state.

Hope to hear from him soon but it looks like things are going well which is great.

Holy **** haha...I don't know what happened to me about forgetting to post updates. Thanks for the continued interest guys! I promise to dump a **** load more pictures of updates on the shop. But yes, we are open! Have 3 other guys working for us and have been crazy busy! Definitely doesn't look like it did when it was nice and shiny and have a lot more stories to tell as well. Hang tight!

I'm going to work on posting these photos in chronological order from where I left off. There are a lot of stories that go with them as well and will do my best to recollect on the details. Things started getting pretty interesting and we definitely ran into a few hurdles. So here we go!

Bathrooms are framed up!

Rented a forklift as I was having lifts dropped off the following day. Decided to use it to move my compressor into position:

Shortly after that photo was taken on another late and exhausting work night, I miscalculated and accidentally dropped the compressor off the forks! Brand new compressor, but the damage could have been worse. Broken air cleaner element, aftercooler tube and bent belt guard and a bruised ego.

New aftercooler hose made up below and was able to bend guard back into place and purchase new air cleaner housing. Compressor purrs like a kitten:

Then the lifts arrive. Waited patiently 3 weeks for these...they messed up the order. I ordered onc CL10 w/ 2 foot extensions, 1 CL12 and 1 DX77. They sent me 2 CL12's and a DX77. You would think with as much as these cost and to ship that they would at least double check it. They didn't and was a big punch in the gut as we were ready to open our doors in a few weeks.

Another shot of bathroom build:

Hose reels arrived:

Drywall going up!

Plumbing for outside wash basin:

More photos to come soon and a lot more stories! Enjoy and thanks for your continued interest. So glad all of this is behind us haha!

The building looks fantastic on your web page, you def modernized the look and the webpage looks well done.

I read the whole thread today and it sure would be nice to be able to see the pics without the damn photobucket branding in the middle.

Also, no pics in your last post are showing.....

Congrats on the new business venture and here's to continued success!

Thanks! Just updated last post...having technical difficulties. Yea, when I originally posted them, the photobucket watermark wasn't there...weird. I'm now uploading other photos to imgur and posting now. Will get more posts in here shortly with updates.

Went to install lift in Bay 2 in front shop only to find out that the guy who poured the concrete seriously effed me over. WAYYYY too thin and only about an inch thick in certain spots. Anchors for lift wouldn't hold. Looks like there was some sort of air pocket when they poured it:

Had to dig that nice fancy floor back up...again, would never epoxy again:

Now it's 2020 and we're SLOW in April during the pandemic...redid the floors that I swore I would never do again. Also redid floors in back shop. Went with the Rock Solid kit from Home Depot because cure time was way faster. Very happy with results and overall how it's holding off. But stripping the old stuff was a PITA!:

I think you need to remove the "s" from https when using the IMGUR pic links. At least that works for me on other forums.

I can see the photos & WOW!!!

As a former automotive business owner that transitioned from a less than 1000sqft facility I'd been in for 10 years to 8500sqft in 2004, I can really appreciate the excitement & anxiety you must have been feeling.

I commend you & your team's dedication in rehabilitating & modernizing that property.

You & your wife obviously have an attention to detail that is reflected in your facility, your team of employees & is shared with your customer's & their vehicles.

I only wish I lived closer to check it out in person.

Keep up the great work!

Photos look great now! Where are you in MD? And is it that you don't like epoxy floors or that it is a pain to put it down? Great looking business!

Thanks! We are located in Edgewater, MD. And, just the time required to invest to lay it down is just a super pain in the ****. Also, the initial epoxy I put down in the front shop was the Armorpoxy 3 part application. It also required one week to cure before driving on it. I couldn't afford to be down a bay for that amount of time if I used that kit again. Also, I didn't have a floor scrubber initially to keep it looking pretty so it started to looking pretty bad pretty fast. But during the worst part of the pandemic, we had some spare time and decided to strip the old epoxy flooring and went with the Rustoleum Rock Solid kit from Home Depot. The time was all spent in prepping and stripping the old epoxy before laying down the Rock Solid. Also, the cure time is way faster than the 3 part kit. Very happy with how it's held up so far as well.
