Scored a Disston E305 Sharpener from a craigslist ad for $65. The grinder seems to take 7 inch wheels (none on it) is 1/3 hp but has a huge Kingston Connoly motor ("with ball bearings" tag soldered on) made in North Plainfield, Nj. The grinder has an outer shield on the right side with a vacuum port for filings to be sucked out. It has a some what huge 14x8 view sheild with a cast aluminum frame and two bulbs. The view sheild is 1/4 plexiglass and looks old but serviceable. I plugged it in and hit the switches the motor quickly turned up to rpm and sounded very smooth, the lights work as well.
Just need wheels. I'm thinking a wire wheel for the side without the outer gaurd and a white tool grade wheel for the right side. This thing has to weigh 65lbs with out wheels on it !
Google can't find anything about a Disston E305- anyone here ever run across one or know a sight that might prove fruitfull ?
