After work today I did some plumbing to upgrade from 3/8 to 1/2 inch hose. I found a nearby air line that was used for bulk grease back in the 60's and 70's. The air line pressurized a barrel and the grease went back up through another line (really wish I wouldn't have taken that one apart ) I took an old looking regulator off of the air line and put a hose on it to go to my reel. I figured you guys are all into vintage shop equipment, so I took a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. :) I'm not sure exactly how old it is, but I think it is neat. Oh and it still works!

The air doesn't pressurize the barrel, it operates an air powered grease pump that drives the grease thru the hose to the trigger on the end of the hose.

We use them at work every day, Graco brand, but the Alemite brand works the same.

You ever see a construction equipment lube truck? They have several of these grease guns with the small 30 gal sized barrels of grease, and hose reels and grease gun triggers on them. Pull up next to a bulldozer and roll out the hose and start lubing. These things have been around since at least the late '40's if not earlier. and have not significantly changed.
