Need 220v help

Hey guys,
I have a dedicated 220v 20A circuit in my garage with a single receptacle. Nema 6-20 i think? I want to run 2 identical machines that each use about 7 amps. They would be running continuously together at the same time. Rather than getting a splitter cord can I just change the receptacle to a duplex receptacle? The current receptacle has two hots and a ground to it. Am I correct thinking the duplex receptacle would be wired the same?

For a 240V supply the duplex would be wired the same, 220V is hot, neutral, grounding "earth" & is 50 Hertz, not a North American voltage anymore..

Your plan will work fine. Duplex is wired the same as your single Receptacle. I wasn't sure they even made a duplex 20A 240v, but a quick google shows they sure do.
