This would be perfect, but they want $22 to ship this to me!

I just need a 3/8" hex security bit socket in either 3/8" drive or 1/4" drive. 3/8" preferred. Any other options other than buying a Chinese set from amazon?

Haven't seen anything that small with the tamper proof/resistant part of it. I was thinking it was VIM for sure but they only list regular SAE hex stubby bits.

Funny, I've never seen one that big. Think my biggest might be 1/4", if that.

Yes, I have plenty of small ones up to 1/4". I just found a 3/8" on a 1/4" hex shank. I might just weld that to a 1/4" socket. Only $3!

I have US made Bondhus 48332 and 48386 tamper hex L-wrench sets I use. If I was in need of a socket solution, I would probably buy an individual Bondhus 48314 tamper resistant hex L-wrench and cut one of the tamper resistant ends off with an angle grinder cut-off disc. Then I would insert it into a regular 3/8 hex socket to use it. It could alternately be epoxied into a spare 3/8 hex socket, or installed into an older set-screw style 3/8 bit socket to make a more permanent "official" tamper hex bit socket.

McMaster has these bits available individually. But you'll probably pay $20 shipping for a $5 bit as they've really increased shipping prices in the last few years.
