My tool collection has finally outgrown my 26" CM box that I've had for a while.

I have been planning to get a wider bottom chest for a while, and put my current box on top.

I have have been looking at the "middle of the road" sets, like the Husky set at HD, or the one at Costco that I missed out on. Which I'm kinda pissed about.

If I bought a combo, I'd just sell my CM upper.

And, I've also thought to just get the 42" HF lower that seems to get good reviews.

What do you guys think?

I think the Harbor Freight box is solidly built, and fairly well respected. Unfortunately, at 42", it is 1" too big for your needs!

First choice for me would be HF44, if it fits your space. It will likely be my next box purchase when I outgrow my current Mac box.

I just bought the Husky 41" combo chest today. I just set it up and went over it, I think it is very nice and worth the $498 I paid.

Ha! Ya, I left myself 42 1/4" for space between my workbench and shelving.

I think the Husky set is very reasonable. Plus it's black, which I prefer.

Is it crazy to expect them to ever go on sale?

Check Craigslist. On sale ? Ha ha. all
their employees ****** up all the
one cent deals etc. before most other
people get a chance, then they sell
the stuff on craigslist. Must be their
form of profit sharing.

If you have a Menards, get the Master force box. It is IMO a step up from the other store brands and the Harbor Freight. I have the 46'', but they also have a 41". Otherwise, I would get the Harbor freight box.

Check Sears Craftsman Heavy Duty, that had an awesome on sale the other day around $200

Or check the Kobalt at Lowes at around $200 with additional $15 off

Prices fluctuate, but those tool chests have gotten some positive feedback in recent days as per the hot deals section of the forum

do you have a link to the 52, I cant find it on the sears site

The 52 Premium HD is apparently sold out. But you can still get the Soft Close version, which has same load ratings, wheels, and material thicknesses. The warranty is "only" 6 years (about how long Sears will last) but the upside is that the matching chest is much nicer. And it's cheaper yet:rocker:
