I am looking for something little bigger and more user friendly for my portable socket set. Right now i am using a husky 12" tool bag, The socket set is from an old blow molded kit that the case broke. The bag holds everything right now that i need but if i need a socket I have to dig thru the bag to find the right socket rail I need. I tried to post up my bag but i can't my picture to load, so the link below is the stock image from home depot website.

Not clear what you are asking about...the pic is just a 12 inch soft-sided toolbag. Obviously that's not well suited to traveling for mechanics tools you use often. They ar well suited to car kits and DIY tools to keep around the house tho.

Couple options for sockets would be multi-racks, where 1/4, 1/2, 3/8 rails are fastened to a backing plate (various makes). Or lisle makes racks with magnetic shor/long that lay flat with a handle. In both of those scenarious, however, your other tools are going to pile on top and risk nocking out sockets from the holders.

So, in my opinion, if you cant use a small rally box with drawers or a cantil-lver box (better suited to mechanic specific tools), I would look as some kind of clamshell box with a foam liner. Alternatively you can get some inexpensive plastic clamshel cases from snap on.

The main issue is going to be the sticker shock, cost will be from $15-50 bucks. While a new toolbox or better toolbag will be in the same price range as well (and you can probably make simple railes work).

Cheap hf socket rails fastened to some 2" strips of osb work well for keeping organized if you were going to leave them in a bag.. Also nice to stand them up outside when you are working on something making each size easily identified..

I'm a big fan of rally style boxes. Home depot has a black husky branded one which I got last month that is pretty damn good, I'd say as good as my craftsman one. They hold quite a bit of tools and they get heavy but if you want it lighter you can always supplement with a bag or blow mold case.

Are you looking for a bigger bag?[/QU

Yes i am looking for a bigger or box that is more user friendly so i am not spending time looking for the right socket

your thread title is misleading so it takes awhile to figure out what you are asking.:dunno:
consider changing your 1st post OP "socket" to "portable box / bag "
